The Arkansas State Archives houses approximately 13,000 cubic feet of state records and manuscript collections pertaining to the history of Arkansas and its people. These materials have been described and inventoried for ease of access. These inventories, called finding aids, are keyword searchable. Separated Materials: Some archival collections contain materials that have been stored separately from the bulk of the collection due to those items' preservation needs. Generally, this affects collections that include artifacts that have been moved to the archives' museum collection, and the existence of artifacts in a collection has been noted in that collection's finding aid. Due to the nature of artifact and other separated materials, we require researchers to fill out an Artifact Access Form and send it in to state.archives@arkansas.gov, to schedule an appointment to view artifacts from the museum collection.

Thirty-fifth Parallel Railroad Company act, 1870
This Texas Act granted right-of-way in Texas to the Thirty-fifth Parallel Railroad Company. In 1870,the railroad company extended its railroad and telegraph lines into the north-western part of Texas, from Arkansas and Indian Territory. This collection contains a hand written copy of the Texas Act signed by James Newcomb, the Secretary of State for Texas from 1870-1874.

Thomas R. Stone diary, 1861-1862
William E. Bevens transcribed the Civil War diary of Thomas R. Stone in April 1911. The battle of Shiloh, Tennessee, is the only battle Stone describes in any detail, although he briefly mentions action at Farmington, Mississippi, and the advance of the Union Army to Corinth, Mississippi.
This letter was written by Governor Thomas S. Drew to Elias N. Conway, Auditor, asking Conway to provide him with statistical information.

U.M. Rose estate papers, 1925-1936
This correspondence relates to the estate of Uriah Milton "U.M." Rose. Rose died August 12, 1913, and left everything in his estate to his wife, Margaret T. Gibbs Rose. His will appointed Margaret Rose as executrix. His instructions were that the estate would be divided after Margaret's death. Each of his children would receive one part of the estate, with nine parts in all: John M. Rose, William G. Rose, George B. Rose, Mrs. Fanny Dickenson, Mrs. Ellen Gibbons, Charles C. Rose, Lewis H. Rose, Mrs. Jessie Smith, and one part to grandchildren. U.M. Rose's estate was divided when Margaret Rose died on June 4, 1925.
