Description

This collection contains receipts and financial statements for Thomas E. Wilson. Also included are special orders and Wilson's amnesty oath along with other miscellaneous items.

Biographical/Historical Note

Thomas E. Wilson was born July 6, 1804, in Kentucky. He moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas, in 1832, where he was a surveyor and sutler to soldiers. He owned a farm and several slaves. He married Mary A. Moore Stephenson (1822-1887), daughter of Major John Dillard and Sallie Price Moore of Virginia, on January 1, 1846. They had several children. Wilson died September 11, 1880.
