This collection contains an address delivered by Dr. John L. Ferguson, former Director of the Arkansas History Commission titled, "The Surrender at Jacksonport."
Biographical/Historical Note
During the Civil War, more than 6,000 Confederate soldiers commanded by General M. Jeff Thompson surrendered at Jacksonport on June 5, 1865.
