Description

This collection contains correspondence of members of the Hudson and Reeve families of Wisconsin and Kansas. A pay receipt and quarterly return are also included.

Biographical/Historical Note

This collection consists mainly of Civil War correspondence of Captain/Sergeant Amos B. Hudson (1829-1884), who served in companies A and H, First Wisconsin Cavalry. He was born in Vermont, son of Jacob Hudson and Arathusa Locke, and moved with his family moved to Dodge County, Wisconsin, before 1850. After 1865, Amos B. and his wife, Laura J., moved to Kansas.
