This collection contains one broadside, Special Orders, No. 23 (Headquarters, Department of Arkansas, Little Rock), instructing Captain J.R. Whitcomb to report to Brigadier General F. Soloman for duty.

Biographical/Historical Note

Frederick Salomon was a German immigrant who became a Brigadier General in the Union Army during the U.S. Civil War. In Arkansas, he participated in the Battle of Helena, the Battle of Elkin's Ferry, and the Battle of Jenkins' Ferry.
