Description
This letter from Robert E. Lee to T.B. Padgett concerns the need, or lack thereof, of another drug store in Lexington, Virginia.
Biographical/Historical Note
Robert Edward Lee (1807-1870) is best remembered as the commander of the Confederate States Army. After the war ended, he became president of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia. After his death, Washington College changed its name to Washington and Lee University.
