Biographical/Historical Note
The Norfork Methodist Church, Methodist Episcopal South, was organized in 1893. At one time Norfork community was known as Liberty and was part of Izard County, Arkansas. Norfork became a part of Baxter County in 1873. The town was incorporated in 1906 after the railroad arrived. The church register was presented to the Norfork Historical Society by Billy G. Staggs, as a memorial to his grandfather, Gideon Erastus Brown Cunningham, a member of Norfork Methodist Church, and Staggs' mother, Ruth Cunningham Staggs.
