This collection contains the address, "Famous War Horses of Confederate Leaders."

Biographical/Historical Note

Civil War Generals had warhorses to ride in battle and on parade, such as Ulysses S. Grant's horse Cincinnati and Robert E. Lee's horse Traveller. Some of these horses died in battle, while others continued their service after the war was over.The United Daughters of the Confederacy was established in 1894 to commemorate the Confederacy. An auxiliary organisation, the Children of the Confederacy, also exists and is sponsored by the UDC.
