Biographical/Historical Note
Charles Augustus Lindbergh (1902-1974) was an aviator famous for making the first solo transatlantic flight and the longest transatlantic, flying from New York City to Paris. He promoted interest in commercial aviation and argued against the United States getting involved in World War II. This poster was dropped on Main and Barraque Streets in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, at 11:25 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 1927, by Charles Lindburgh from the "Spirit of St. Louis" airplane. It was caught by Edgar B. Chesnutt.
