Description
This collection contains proceedings of a mass meeting held at Van Buren and proceedings of an "Unconditional Union" mass meeting held at Fort Smith.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Unconditional Union Party was a political party which operated in the border states during the American Civil War and the first part of the Reconstruction period which supported staying in the Union at all costs. It was dissolved in 1866.
