This collection contains a program for the Broadway Bridge Opening Celebration, which occurred on March 12-17, 1923.
Biographical/Historical Note
The original Broadway Bridge was opened on March 14, 1923. It was an arch bridge that spanned the Arkansas River connecting Little Rock and North Little Rock, Arkansas. Its construction began in 1921. An estimated 50,000 people attended the grand opening events. The bridge was demolished in 2016, and the current Broadway Bridge opened in 2017.
