Description
This collection contains one broadside, an announcement of sale by W.H. Cloe, "Special Commissioner of Benton County Circuit Court in the case of Orr & Lindsley Shoe Co. against J.W. & F.A. Mitchell." Land to be sold was located in Springtown.
Biographical/Historical Note
Benton County is located in northwest Arkansas and is the second-most populous county in the state. It was formed on September 30, 1836 and is named after Thomas Hart Benton, a U.S. Senator from Missouri. The county seat is Bentonville.
