Biographical/Historical Note

"Secession in Arkansas," was written by J. H. Atkinson in 1961. J. H. Atkinson (1888-1973) was an author and educator who taught at Nashville, Arkansas High School, Little Rock High School, and was instrumental in the creation of Little Rock Junior College, where he served in the initial faculty as a history teacher. He was appointed by Governor Sid McMath to the Arkansas History Commission and served for twelve years, eight years of which he was chairman.
