This collection contains photocopies of the Civil War reminiscences of James H. Hopson.
Biographical/Historical Note
James Henry Hopson was born January 29, 1837, in Hempstead County, Arkansas, to Samuel Hopson and Lucinda Catherina Stuart Hopson. James Henry Hopson married Marian Rebecca Denson in 1867 in Sevier County, Arkansas. Their children were James Henry, Joseph Samuel, James Stuart, William Neville, Mary Hopkins, Naomi Eliza, Johnnye Gilliam, and Lucinda. Third Lieutenant Hopson served with the Fifth Regiment, Arkansas Infantry, State Troops and the First Consolidated Arkansas Infantry Regiment, Confederate States Army. Hopson died April 28, 1914, in Cromer, New Mexico.
