Description
This collection contains three letters written to Clara Eno concerning historic sites near Fayetteville, Arkansas. The letters were written between 1935 and 1939.
Biographical/Historical Note
Clara Bertha Eno was born in Van Buren, Arkansas, February 14, 1854, to Jonathan Adams Eno and Ellen Elizabeth Eno. After the death of her father in January 1862, Clara's mother took Clara and her sister to Morristown, New Jersey. Clara Eno returned to Arkansas after the death of her mother and her sister. She taught school for 20 years before retiring. During her retirement, Eno wrote numerous articles on Arkansas history, culminating with the publication of The History of Crawford County after her 95th birthday. Clara B. Eno died August 2, 1951 in Van Buren, Arkansas.
