This collection contains a letter from Alvin Seamster to Arkansas History Commission Director Ted Worley. The letter includes an article written by Seamster about the Battle of Pea Ridge.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Battle of Pea Ridge, also know as the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern, took place during the Civil War on March 7-8, 1862, near Leetown, northeast of Fayetteville, Arkansas. It resulted in a defeat for the Confederates and established Federal control of most of Missouri and northern Arkansas for Union forces.
