This collection contains county alien enemies registration sheets for males in various counties in Eastern Arkansas and correspondence related to the registration sheets.
Biographical/Historical Note
During World War I, all natives, citizens, denizens or subjects of Germany and its allies (including American-born women who married German men) were deemed by the federal government alien enemies. This generally subjected them to additional regulations, increased scrutiny, and required registration.
