This collection contains three records related to R.F. Thompson, acting first sergeant of the 29th Arkansas Infantry.

Biographical/Historical Note

R.F. Thompson was born in Fayette County, Tennessee. He was acting first sergeant in Capt. Plunkett's Company "K" of Bell's Regiment, Arkansas 29th Infantry. The 29th Arkansas Infantry Regiment was later redesignated the 37th Arkansas Infantry Regiment under the Trans-Mississippi Army after the Battle of Prairie Grove.
