This collection consists of a collection of poems (clippings) by Mary Ann Davis.

Biographical/Historical Note

Mary Ann Davis was a professor of mathematics and English at the University of Arkansas for more than 46 years. She also served as the university's dean of women from 1911 to 1923. Davis was born in Kentucky on February 1, 1873. She came to Arkansas Industrial University in 1893 to teach English, mathematics, and history. She contributed to national and regional poetry publications. A book of her poetry, From the Window, was published soon after her death in 1939. She died on December 26, 1939. Davis Hall at the University of Arkansas is named in her honor.
