This collection contains a report by F. S. Root, Superintendent of the Fayetteville Public schools in 1950.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Fayetteville School System was established in 1871. The school district successfully integrated in 1954, three years before the Little Rock Nine. The Fayetteville School system has two schools listed as charted schools, Haas Hall in 2004 and Fayetteville Virtual Academy in 2016. In 2013 the school district was awarded as a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School.
