This collection contains teachers licenses, justice of the peace certificates, and other items related to the career of Harty C. Brimmage of White County, Arkansas between 1918 and 1948.
Biographical/Historical Note
Harty Curtis Brimmage (1898-1985) was born in Mount Vernon, Arkansas December 23, 1898 the oldest son of Bazel Curtis Brimmage and Fannie Hollingsworth Brimmage. Brimmage graduated from the Concord Public Schools in White County, Arkansas. He assisted his father as a farmer but in 1919 he received his first teacher's license to teach second grade in White County, Arkansas. Brimmage also served as Jefferson Township, White County, Arkansas Justice of the Peace in the 1930's. Brimmage died March 4, 1985 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
