This collection contains a postal notice dated July 5, 1899 to Dr. Harvey D. Wood of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Biographical/Historical Note
Harvey D. Wood (1847-1938) was born January 3, 1847 in Washington County, Arkansas to Jarrett Wood and Jane Mary Catherine Strain. Wood studied at the St. Louis Medical College and graduated there in 1872. He moved to Fayetteville in 1874 to practice medicine and helped establish the Washington County Medical Society. Wood also established the Washington County Health Office and served as Washington County health officer. Wood married Annette Dickerson in Washington County, Arkansas on May 14, 1871. Harvey Wood died May 13, 1938.
