This collection contains a typewritten paper "Mammoth Springs Attempted Bank Robbery" written 36 years after the 1912 incident.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Citizens' Bank of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas was the scene of an attempted robbery in June 1912. Members of the gang turned on the ringleader and informed authorities of the planned robbery. Ben Jones, a member of the gang, was killed by authorities. Years later someone wrote a paper on the attempted robbery as well as other crimes the gang supposedly committed.
