This collection contains letters appointing Benjamin Strickler as the postmaster of Greenville, Arkansas in1860.

Biographical/Historical Note

Benjamin Strickler and his wife Mary settled the area known as Greenville, Arkansas, in 1837. Benjamin was appointed postmaster in 1860. Greenville would later be renamed Strickler, Arkansas, after Benjamin in Strickler.
