This collection contains one photocopy and one original notice of location for mining claims in Golden City, Arkansas, for members of the Burns family.

Biographical/Historical Note

Golden City, Arkansas, was located in southern Logan County and was founded after the discovery of gold nearby. A town of five hundred people quickly developed between 1886-1887, but declined thereafter once prospectors determined the amount of gold to be very small.
