This collection contains the proceedings of the Arkansas State Bar Association from 1882 through 1889. The years 1885 and 1886 are missing.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Arkansas State Bar Association was organized March 15, 1882 when prominent Arkansas lawyers met in Little Rock, Arkansas. They met again on May 25, 1882 in the Hall of the Arkansas House of Representatives to adopt a constitution. The Arkansas State Bar Association held their annual meeting in January. The Arkansas State Bar Association was the successor to the Bar Association of the State of Arkansas formed in 1837 but soon disbanded. In January 1889 the Arkansas State Bar Association reorganized and continues today as the Arkansas Bar Association.
