This collection contains commissions and naturalization papers for John W. Shoppach of Saline County, Arkansas.
Biographical/Historical Note
John William Shoppach (1809-1861) Johann Wilhelm Shoppachin Hesse-Cassel, Germany in 1809. Shoppach emigrated to the United States and settled in Saline County, Arkansas in 1838. A year later he married Sibbie Pelton. Shoppach held numerous positions in Saline County, Arkansas before his death November 19, 1861.
