Description
This collection contains the papers of the Governor's Task Force on the Retention of Historic State Records, 1994-1995.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Governor's Task Force on the Retention of Historic State Records, appointed by Governor Jim Guy Tucker, had the responsibility of drawing up a records management bill for state records. The taskforce met from June until September 1994, creating a bill which was submitted to the Arkansas General Assembly, and became law as Act 905 of 1995. However, this was enabling legislation only, as no funding was appropriated to operate the program.
