Biographical/Historical Note
James Paul Clarke was active in Arkansas politics for over 40 years. He served in the Arkansas Legislature, as Attorney General, Governor from 1895-1897 and as U. S. Senator from 1903 until his death in 1916. He lived in Helena and Little Rock during his political career.
