Comments
I have worked at the Arkansas State Archives for 14 years and the County and City Record Surveys are some of the earliest information we have on the state of county records in Arkansas. John Hugh Reynolds, born January 3, 1869, was president of Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. An author whose works include "Makers of Arkansas History," he was instrumental in the creation of the Arkansas State Archives in 1905. In 1906, Reynolds conducted a survey on the state of county and city records in Arkansas. This is one of the few city record surveys to be turned in. - Jane Wilkerson
