Sir - there was an Election held in
this County on the 29th day of
December 1860 for the purpose of
electing officers for the 49th
Regiment Arkansas militia
and results as follows
William H. Earp was elected
Lieutenant Col and Joseph
-Wm Oliver was elected Major
and John Ashford was Elected
Captain and Lewis McBroom first
Lieutenant and Wm A Frost
Second Lieutenant of Company
E[,] 49th Rgmt (?) all of whom I hope
you will commission as soon
as convenient
