Biographical/Historical Note
The Arkansas State Archives has actively sought to collect document related to the Civil War since the agency's creation in 1905. As a result of more than one hundred years of acquisition, the Arkansas State Archives owns the largest and most comprehensive holdings pertaining to Arkansas in the Civil War available anywhere.
