This collection contains one over-sized ledger book for the Loyal Fraternal Home insurance agency. The first two pages contain meeting minutes, and subsequent pages track members paying dues. There are also lists tracking witnesses in criminal court cases. It is unknown who wrote this information or why is it included.
The Loyal Fraternal Home was an insurance agency that operated out of Missouri in the early 20th century. Local chapters were established, called "lodges," and members were recruited to join. Members paid dues to the Loyal Fraternal Home which in turn would pay a lump sum to beneficiaries upon the death of the member. The National Annuity Association partially bought out the Loyal Fraternal Home in 1906.
