Description
This is an incomplete collection of the county copies of death certificates completed for submission to the state as well as burial permits for burial of the deceased, between the years 1918 and 1923. The records include name of the deceased, date of death, cause of death, and place of burial. Not all records have complete information for the deceased.
Biographical/Historical Note
These records are part of a larger collection once housed at the Powhatan Courthouse and donated by the Lawrence County Historical Society in 2010. Arkansas did not begin recording death certificates until 1914. These records are county copies of death certificates filed with the state between 1918 and 1923.
