Description

Discharge given to Private Charles E. Berry enabling him to leave his Kansas regiment to become a Captain in Company H, Second Regiment, Arkansas Infantry Volunteers.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Second Regiment Cavalry was organized at Helena, Arkansas, and Pilot Knob, Missouri, in July 1862. The unit served duty at Helena and Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Cassville, Missouri.
