Minutes book detailing claims and payments made regarding the business of the Military Board of Arkansas.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Military Board of Arkansas was created on May 15, 1861, by resolution of the Arkansas Secession Convention of 1861. The board's duty was to raise the Army of Arkansas, whose units would later be absorbed into the Confederate States Army (CSA). The board helped provide supplies and munitions to the troops. The board consisted of the Governor of Arkansas and two other members.
