Jan. 9, 1817 Gov. John S. Roane born in Tennessee, lived in Pine Bluff and Van Buren.
Cairo & Fulton Railroad completed from Little Rock to Missouri Line Jan. 9, 1873.
Capt. Philip Pennywit noted riverman died Jan. 9. 1868.
