Transcription

December 9, 1796 Governor James S. Conway, born in Tennessee, came to Arkansas in 1820 as surveyor, elected governor in 1836, died in 1855.

Dec. 9, 1842 Montgomery County created.

Dec. 9, 1809 Grandison D. Royston born in Carter County, Tennessee, pioneer, lawyer, and U.S. district atty.
