Transcription

July 10, 1833 General Lucius E. Polk born at Salisbury, N. C., lieutenant in Co. B, 15th Arkansas, wounded in Battle of Shiloh, brig-general Dec. 13, 1862, severely wounded at Richmond, KY. and disabled at Kenesaw Mountain.

July 10, 1820 Stephen F. Austin appointed judge of Pulaski Circuit Court, first to hold that office. Austin, Texas named after him.
