July 3, 1870 race between the Robt. E. Lee and the Natchez. Start at New Orleans June 30, 1870, 5 p.m. Lee arrives at Helena, July 2, 4:30 p.m., Natchez 5:24 p.m. Race ends at St. Louis with the Lee winning by six hours.
