Transcription

June 6, 1911 Major Charles Gordon Newman died at Pine Bluff, born 1841 in Richmond, Va. June 6, 1892, Major in C.S.A. at age of 21, founded Pine Bluff Commercial, 1878. One of Arkansas's most noted editors.

Ashdown incorporated.

Old time print shop with hand press on which newspapers were printed before 1870.
