Transcription
June 2, 1840 Gen. Robert C. Newton born in Little Rock, admitted to bar in 1860, served in Conf. army in battles of Shiloh, Corinth, Prairie Grove, Helena, etc. Apptd. major-general of state troops by Baxter during Brooks-Baxter War.
Third Osage Treaty June 2, 1825, extinguished Osage title to lands in Arkansas.
Gen. B. L. E. Bonneville died at Ft. Smith June 2, 1878.
