James Bowie did not make the Bowie knife

It was made by James Black a blacksmith of Washington, Ark., after Bowie's design

$25 Reward

Lost: In or near Washington, on the 9th inst., a BOWIE KNIFE, with silver handle and scabbard. On the handle is engraved, "From E.S.C. Robertson to W.A. Pitts" $25 will be paid for its delivery at this office.
