Description

This collection contains a blank Mount Holly Cemetery certificate during the Civil War. This certificate states that the sum for the burial lot should be paid to the city of Little Rock in current 'Confederate States of North American' currency.

Biographical/Historical Note

Mount Holly Cemetery is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Established in 1843, many prominent Arkansans are buried there including Arkansas governors, Supreme Court Justices, senators, Confederate generals, and Little Rock mayors. Located at 11th and 13th streets and Broadway and Gaines streets, Mount Holly was one of the first cemeteries to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places in1970.
