Description
This land grant, located in a section of Arkansas Territory now called Faulkner County, was given to John Law for his service in the War of 1812.
Biographical/Historical Note
John Law served as corporal in Carson's Company of the 10th Infantry during the War of 1812. Veterans of the War of 1812 were rewarded for military service with Military Bounty Land Grants. However, the land was not given outright to the veteran. He had to apply for a land warrant that stated the veteran was entitled to X number of acres. If the warrant was permitted then he could use that warrant to apply of a land patent.
