Description

This land grant was given to Thomas Deale, the brother of Shadrach Deale who served in Taylor's Company of the 18th Regiment of Infantry. The land grant was signed by President John Quincy Adams.

Biographical/Historical Note

Shadrach Deale served as a sergeant in Taylor's Company of the 18th Regiment of Infantry. He was awarded a land grant of 160 acres in Arkansas Territory for his service to the United States. He died before the land could be given to him, so it was given to his brother, Thomas Deale, and his other heirs.
