This collection contains military orders, receipts, and financial records of Confederate officer Calvin C. Naylor.

Biographical/Historical Note

Calvin C. Naylor of Dover, Pope County, Arkansas, enlisted December 21, 1861, as a First Sergeant in Company E, 17th Regiment, Arkansas Infantry. The 17th Regiment, Arkansas Infantry combined with other regiments to form the 21st Arkansas Infantry on May 15, 1862. Naylor served in Company I throughout the rest of his service. He was promoted to Captain June 3, 1862, and worked in the hospital at Camden, Arkansas, 1864-1865. He died February 22, 1903.
