40/86 Mortgage Capital abstract of title collection contains 57 abstracts of title for various land parcels comprising subdivisions in Faulkner, Lonoke, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Van Buren and White Counties, Arkansas. The bulk of these abstracts were created between 1960 and 1980, though the property histories within the abstracts date back to 1858 in some cases.
Biographical/Historical Note
40/86 Mortgage Capital is a Carmel, Indiana-based firm which manages mortgages for its parent company, 40/86 Advisors, Inc., an investment firm which operates around the United States. The materials in this collection, donated by Barbara King of 40/86 Mortgage Capital, are abstracts of title created by Arkansas-based entities such as Eagle Mortgage Corporation, Fidelity Abstract and Guaranty Company, and Saline County Abstract and Guaranty Company. These abstracts detail the history of several parcels of land throughout Central Arkansas as they were developed into subdivisions in the 1960s and 1970s, such as Smoking Oaks (Faulkner County), Briarwood Estates (Lonoke County), Chicot Manor, Windamere, and Arnold's Highland Acres (Pulaski County); Shannon Hills, Hollywood Heights, and Lake Sail-Em (Saline County); as well as tracts of land in Van Buren and White County. In some cases, the property histories in these abstracts date back to 1858.
