Biographical/Historical Note

Arbor Day is a holiday in which people around the world are encouraged to plant trees. It is celebrated in many countries, but the date varies depending on climate and planting season. In the United States, the national Arbor Day holiday is April 26, but Arbor Day in Arkansas is celebrated on March 19. November 17, 2017 was declared Arbor Day in Searcy, Arkansas, in order to encourage individuals to plant trees, as well as to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the United States entering World War I and to honor those who served.
