Biographical/Historical Note
Cotton Plant College was an African American co-educational boarding school located in Woodruff County, Arkansas. This college was founded in the 1880s in the home of Jerry Clark and was later located in a small church. In 1890, the school constructed a building that housed 200 students. Cotton Plant College merged with Arkadelphia Academy in the 1930s, though the campus remained in Cotton Plant, Woodruff County, and the school remained in operation till 1950.
